Carol Zurcher

Carol E. Zurcher, C.P.A. is a Partner at Thomas, Zurcher & White, P.A. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Accounting Degree from the College of Business at Florida State University. Her areas of practice include Federal Taxation with an emphasis in Employee Benefits and Retirement Plans. In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant, her credentials include Personal Financial Specialists Accreditation and Chartered Global Management Accountant Designation. Carol is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Carol was a member and a former chair of the AICPA's Employee Benefits Tax Resource Panel and a former committee member of the AICPA's Employee Benefits Taxation Committee. From 1998 to 2004, her duties on this committee and on the task resource panel included working jointly on revising the 401(k) Practice Guide, and working on the following projects: Mandatory Withholding Rules Practice Guide, Employee Benefits Taxation Practice Guides, Pension and I.R.A. Simplification, Employee Benefits Taxation Practice Guides, Reviewed House and Senate proposed pension legislation and commented on plan design and distributions, and reviewed Employee Benefit Plan Conferences and Practice Guides  for AICPA members. In 2004, she served on the Employee Benefits Plans Conference Steering Committee. From 2006 to 2008, she served on the Tax Executive Committee. From 2009 to 2011, she served on the Tax Legislation and Policy Committee. Carol was a member of the 2010 and 2011 National Tax Conference Steering Committees. She was a member of the AICPA Employee Benefits Tax Resource Panel from 2013 to 2015. She currently services on the AICPA 2017 Employee Benefits Conference Planning Committee.
She is a former board member of the Employee Benefits Council of Central Florida, Inc.
In 2013, along with partner, Thomas A. Thomas, Carol co-founded the Association of Independent Doctors (AID).  AID is a national trade association established to further the interest of independent doctors.
Carol strongly believes in giving back. She supports several local and national charities. She has volunteered at Arnold Palmer Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, has served on the Board of Florida Leaders Council and served on many committees and chaired The Annual Winter Park Partners in Progress fundraisers. Carol currently volunteers with IMPower, Inc., a non-profit agency that strives to provide support and empowerment to Central Florida children living in unstable homes and children who are in need in our community.
