Karen Field has over 34 years of experience in the Employee Benefits area. Karen recently joined the RSM Washington National Tax Compensation and Benefits group after retiring from KPMGs Washington National Tax Compensation & Benefits group.
Before joining the KPMG Washington National Tax practice, Karen spent over 11 years in the IRS National Office TE/GE Division working on qualified retirement plans (e.g., 401(k) and pension plans) and 457 plans, SEPs, Form 1099 reporting issues, nonqualified deferred compensation plan – 401(k) interaction, and compliance issues.
Karen works on both domestic and international compensation and benefits issues. Karen reviews and helps determine the taxation, reporting, withholding and deductions for equity compensation and nonqualified deferred compensation arrangements (including section 409A and certain international plans). She assists with section 280G golden parachute rules, section 162(m) $1 million dollar limit rules, partnership compensation arrangements, fringe benefits, and other employee benefits. Karen has been working extensively with companies on the 2018 Tax Reform employee benefits changes.
Karen also works with qualified 401(k), IRA/Roth IRA and pension issues, including cross-border pension and deduction issues.
