Sara Wilson

Sara has over 18 years of experience auditing employee benefit plans, including audits of defined contribution, defined benefit, and health & welfare plans, including plans which require 11-K filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission. She has experience dealing with complex issues related to benefit plan audits, including plan mergers, operational errors and prohibited transactions.

Sara leads Grant Thornton’s West Region employee benefit plan practice where her responsibilities include providing quality control reviews, technical advice, and assistance to other offices in her region. In addition Sara serves as a developer and program leader for the firm’s internally developed employee benefit plan training programs. Sara also assists with the firm’s internal practice reviews and has experience performing peer reviews.

Sara is a certified public accountant, and member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Sara received her Bachelor of Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting and Operations Management from the University of Washington. Sara is a mother of two children and is currently serving as a board member of the Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation.
